Farmers Market Free Coupon for Senior Citizens

The distribution schedule is as follows:
- Saturday August 13, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Santa Barbara Downtown Farmers Market (corner of State & Cota)
- Sunday August 21, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Goleta Farmers Market (Camino Real Marketplace, 7004 Marketplace Drive)
- Wednesday August 31, noon to 4:00 p.m. at Santa Maria Farmers Market (Broadway & Main in Fallas Parking Lot)
- Friday September 2, 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Lompoc Farmers Market (Oceano & I Streets)
- Income limit is under 185% FPL. The income does not need to be verified. Self declaration is accepted.
- Must be over 60 years old. Only one coupon per family is allowed. If there is a couple in which both are senior citizens, only one coupon will be issued to the couple.
- There is a half-sheet form to complete at the site (in SM, LMP and SB) to obtain the coupon. The individual will self-declare on age and income on this half-sheet.
- If the senior citizen is unable to attend the farmers market on the designated date, a caregiver can pick up the coupon on behalf of the Senior citizen through a proxy. To get the proxy, the senior citizen can call the number on the flyer and request by phone. The proxy will be sent to the senior citizen via mail--or if preferred, the caregiver can go to the farmers market on the designated day, request the proxy, go back to the senior citizen for signature, and return to the site to get the coupon.
- Coupons need not be used on the same day. The coupon can be used on a different day.
- A senior citizen may get a coupon only at one site, so for example if the senior citizen received a coupon at the Santa Maria site, they may not go to Lompoc to get another coupon.

National Aging and Disability Transportation Center Announces Grant Opportunity Funding Innovations in Accessible Mobility

Please find information regarding access to transportation listed below.

The NADTC is an FTA-funded technical assistance center that works to further the availability and accessibility of transportation options for older adults, people with disabilities and caregivers.
Eligible applicants include public transit agencies; councils of government; metropolitan planning organizations; tribal agencies, Area Agencies on Aging; Community Action Agencies; Centers for Independent Living; ARCs (Intellectual Disability service organizations); and community organizations involved in the administration, delivery or coordination of public transit, human services transportation, aging, or disability services.
