Lower risk of Breast Cancer





Women who exercise at least two and half hours a week have a lower risk of breast cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.  Cottage Health is teaming up with Jenny Schatzle for the Step Up to Prevent Breast Cancer event.  Free one-hour fitness classes will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Jenny Schatzle Program.  Classes will be offered at noon and 1:30 p.m.

Caregiver Training

FEMA is offering a free training on Natural Disaster Awareness for Caregivers. It will be held on September 13, 2018 at the Santa Barbara City Fire Department on 121 W. Carrillo, Santa Barbara, CA. There will be two offerings: 8:00am - 12:00pm or 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Free screening of End Game


Hospice of Santa Barbara endeavors to open up and whenever possible, normalize conversations about end-of-life by providing presentations and videos that deal very specifically with the subject.
 
End Game (Documentary, 2018) Directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, “End Game” tells the story of terminally ill patients and the inspiring medical professionals and caregivers who help them come to terms with life and death.
