Dear Guest,
We are exciting to offer these two CareMap Workshops. CareMapping is an excellent tool and guide for caregivers, case managers, and agencies offering support services.
A CareMap Workshop is an opportunity to pause, step back and take a fresh look at a family’s caregiving situation in order to better understand who is involved and their specific roles in the caregiving plan.. A clear overview and picture will help to better manage the caregiver’s current and future situation.
A CareMap is a drawing of a person’s care network, using simple symbols to show who cares for whom, and how. It can be drawn by hand, or on a computer.
Over the past two years, hundreds of people across Santa Barbara County have found it easy to learn to draw and use CareMaps, and valuable to do so. It helps them plan for potential difficulties, better manage the people involved, identify missing pieces, and better communicate their situation and needs.
For some, the changes have been profound. “We needed this tool to come into our lives!”, said Josefa Rios, a volunteer with Promotores de Salud. The executive director of the Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens, joyce ellen lippman, says the CareMap is “a gift to caregivers.”
Workshop participants will learn to draw and learn from their own CareMap.
