This series is intended for providers and health care professionals, front-line staff with health plans and provider practices, and other stakeholders interested in improving their ability to meet the needs of adults with functional limitations.
Training Opportunity: 2018 Disability-Competent Care Webinar Series
The CMS Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office and Resources for Integrated Care announced the 2018 Disability-Competent Care Webinar Series, which will take place every Wednesday from February 21st through April 4th. This series is intended to aid providers and health care professionals in improving the delivery of care to persons with disabilities. Individuals with disabilities enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid are at a higher risk for poor health outcomes when compared to individuals without disabilities.
This seven-part series will explore key concepts of the Disability-Competent Care model and how organizations can best implement these concepts to empower providers and participants with disabilities to best meet their care needs. Continuing Education credit from CMS' Learning Management System will be available at no cost to webinar attendees. States may be interested in sharing this free resource with state agency staff, managed care organizations, and other Medicaid providers to promote disability competencies in the provider community.
